KATHMANDU: Hira Nakarmi won women’s singles gold medal in the Veteran Table Tennis Tournament organised by All Nepal Table Tennis Association to mark the Olympic Day on Friday.

Nakarmi defeated Indira Paudel Prajuli in final, while Sabita Basnet KC and Mandira Shakya came joint third. Similarly, Gowardhan Shrestha won the men’s above-60 category gold beating Udya Mohan Shrestha. Pushpa Paudel and Sailendra Joshi finished joint third.

In above-40, Rajendra Bajracharya came first, while Umesh Manandhar finished second. Kiran Byanjakar and Prem Oli were joint third. In the above-50, Suresh Bajracharya defeated Panna Kaji Shakya to win the gold, while Khagendra Dhakal and Agra Bista shared third place.

A total of 75 players competed in the one-day competition.
