Sports kits manufacturer and distributor, Li-Ning unveiled the exclusive jerseys of women's national football team skipper and goalkeeper Anjila Tumbapo Subba here today.
Former national team skippers Upendra Man Singh and Bal Gopal Maharjan, former national team midfielder Pradeep Maharjan and acting president of Nepal Basketball Association Bhim Singh Gurung handed over the jerseys to Li-Ning brand ambassador Subba amidst a programme.
Li-Ning has produced four sets of exclusive jerseys with a logo of ATS16 on the sleeve. According to Rajen Maharjan, President of China Trade Link Company Pvt Ltd - the authorised distributor of Li-Ning in Nepal - Subba was the fifth athlete to get the jersey by her name. "Li-Ning had produced such jerseys for four players previously and Anjila Tumbapo Subba is the fifth player worldwide to get the honour," he said.
Li-Ning had appointed Subba as its brand ambassador last year. She will don Li-Ning kits in her upcoming biopic, Anjila. Subba thanked Li-Ning for the honour. "I am delighted to get the honour from Li-Ning," she said. "After Li-Ning appointed me the brand ambassador last year, other corporate houses followed the suit and signed contracts with Priti Rai and Gita Rana. Such endorsements boost the morale of players," added Subba. Li-Ning is also the sponsor of the women's national basketball team, A division outfit Sankata Club and B division club Madhyapur Youth Association. "We are grateful to Li- Ning for its generous support to different clubs and teams in Nepali sports," said former national team skipper Singh, who is also the president of MYA.
Earlier, Singh and Subba inaugurated Li-Ning's showroom at Durbar Mall in Durbarmarg. President Maharjan said the showroom was fifth outlet of Li-Ning after Jawalakhel, Bouddha, Bharatpur and Trishuli. "We are also planning to open another showroom at Kathmandu Mall in near future," he said.
