SUNSARI: Nepal Police Club defeated Bhutan FC 2-0 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Madan Bhandari Memorial Itahari Gold Cup here on Tuesday.

Abhishek Rijal scored both the goals for departmental side. After a goalless first half, Rijal opened the scoring in the 61st minute following a pass from Tirtha Rana. Rijal added another goal in the injury time to seal the victory. Rijal was named the man of the match.

On Wednesday, Mechi Netralaya Kakarvitta Football Training Centre will take on Tribhuvan Army Club in the first semi-final match of the tournament organised by Rashtriya Jagriti Club.
