Pandey wins Golf Cup

Rabindra Raj Pandey won the Birthday Cup Golf Tournament here at Royal Nepal Golf Course today. Pandey finished the day with net 37 points, ahead of Tendi Sherpa (35).

Sher Bahadur Pandey came first with 30 points in senior (60 years and above) section, while Gyan Bahadur Gurung finished second on count back after he was tied at 27 with D B Gurung.

Shastika Shrestha won the ladies title on count back, after she was tied with runner-up Eu Hazur Thapa at 26 points. In Junior section, Sunny Baral (30) took the award beating Apurba Koirala (10).

Chuda Bahadur Bhandari, who sank three birdies, won the most birdies award, while Shivaram Shrestha bagged the longest drive award at Hole No 11. Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha was the golfer closest to the pin at Hole No 17.

In all, 68 golfers took part in the tournament, organised by All Nepal Golf Club to mark the 33rd birthday of Crown Prince Paras. Minister for Education and sports Hari Bahadur Basnet gave away prizes to the winners.
