Shankar Dev advance
KATHMANDU: Shankar Dev Campus defeated Nepal Commerce Campus by six runs and advanced to the final of the Thames BIM Cup here on Friday.
Batting first, Shankar Dev were bowled out for 76 runs in 11.1 overs and packed NCC for 70 runs in 18.2 overs. Shankar Dev opener Akshu Karki scored 13-ball 19 with the help of two boundaries, while Bisha Acharya added 12 off nine balls hitting one each four and six. NCC’s Dipendra Mainali returned with figures of 6-19, while Rabin Neupane and Binay Deo claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Om Prakash Upadhyay was the lone NCC batsman to contribute in double figures scoring an unbeaten 22 off 38 balls that included two boundaries. Shankar Dev’s Akshu Karki picked up 4-9 and Bisha Acharya took 2-17. Shankar Dev will take on KIST College in Saturday’s final. — HNS
