Takanashi wins, again

BERLIN: Japan’s Sara Takanashi chalked up her 13th win of the women’s World Cup ski-jumping season in Almaty on Saturday, a week after clinching overall success in the competition. The 19-year-old star of the sport was the only jumper to twice go further than 100 metres to give her an imposing total of 252.6 points. That left her comfortably clear of Austrian pair Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (245.3 pts) and Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (239.2). With a second jump in Almaty on Sunday and two in Romania next weekend, Takanashi has the chance to beat her own record of 15 wins in a single season which she achieved in 2013/14.
