Kewell to miss warm-up
SYDNEY: Harry Kewell will miss this month’s warm-up match with Greece after his latest injury setback but is likely to be fit for next month’s World Cup. The Aussie star was forced to leave the field minutes into the second half of Liverpool’s penalty shoot-out win over West Ham United in the FA Cup final in Cardiff. Football Federation Australia ruled Kewell out of the Greece international in Melbourne on May 25 and said that he would join his World Cup teammates in the Netherlands on May 27.
Morientes left out
MADRID: Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes was left off Spain’s squad for the World Cup by coach Luis Aragones on Monday. The team include goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, Santiago Canizares, Jose Manuel Reina; defenders: Michel Salgado, Carles Puyol, Carlos Marchena, Juanito Gutierrez, Sergio Ramos, Pablo Ibanez, Asier Del Horno; midfielders: Joaquin Sanchez, David Albelda, Xavi Hernandez, Antonio Lopez, Marcos Senna, Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso; and forwards: David Villa, Jose Antonio Reyes, Fernando Torres, Raul Gonzalez, Luis Garcia.
