The price of precious metals increased slightly in the trading week between August 7 and 12.
In the domestic market, gold price increased by Rs 1,000 per tola, while silver price also went up by Rs 20 a tola during the review week.
According to the rate list of Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNe- GoSiDA), gold price was fixed at Rs 96,300 per tola on Sunday and remained unchanged on Monday. The gold price increased to Rs 96,900 a tola on Tuesday before going up to Rs 97,100 per tola on Wednesday. The price of precious yellow metal fell to Rs 96,600 a tola on Thursday before closing the week at Rs 97,300 per tola on Friday.
Similarly, silver was traded at Rs 1,205 a tola on Sunday and remained unchanged on Monday.
On Tuesday, the price of the grey metal rose to Rs 1,240 per tola before falling to Rs 1,230 a tola on Wednesday, as per the FeNeGoSiDA. The price of silver fell to Rs 1,225 per tola on Thursday and remained the same on Friday.
According to Reuters, gold prices drifted higher on Friday helped by a drop in the US Treasury yields and setting the metal on path for a fourth straight week of gains, as investors took stock of the recent inflation data out of the United States.
Spot gold rose 0.5 per cent to $1,798.86 per ounce by 1800 GMT and was headed for a more than one per cent weekly rise. US gold futures also settled up 0.5 per cent at $1,815.5, Reuters reported.
