KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 4

After a triumphant tour across five U.S. cities, Nepal's renowned folk-rock band, Nepathya, had the audience dancing to their tunes at the Maryland concert.

In a statement, the band remarked, "The Maryland concert was a resounding success, akin to our previous performances in Colorado, Dallas, New York, and Ohio, where we enjoyed packed houses filled with diverse audiences from all walks of life."

As the event commenced punctually at 8 p.m., Amrit Gurung, dressed in blue jeans, took to the stage and greeted the audience with a bow.

In rhythm with the "clang" of the drumset, he gestured towards the audience with both hands. By then, the venue was already abuzz with excitement. Seizing the moment, he launched into the opening song:

"Koshi ko pani yo jindagani

Sa-la-la-la Jai Jane Hau Hajur"

Following this, Amrit delivered renditions of the band's classic hits, "Bhedako Oon" and "Chekyo Chekyo," and engaged in a brief exchange with the audience.

The program showcased a blend of new and classic songs, with Amrit continuously interacting with the audience throughout the event. As he had in other locations, Amrit urged the younger generation to learn their mother tongue and, if that was not feasible, at least to learn Nepali, to help them stay connected to their heritage.

At the concert, the main vocalist Amrit was supported by Dhruv Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboard.

After completing a successful series of six concerts across the United States, Nepathya is now heading to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for their seventh and final performance. This will be a first-time experience for the band in this city. The concert will take place at the Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg on Saturday, September 7, stated in the statement.

With the conclusion of this seventh concert, Nepathya's month-and-a-half-long tour of the United States will come to an end.
