Flood in Ghattekhola and Chyattu khola triggered by incessant rainfall from last night has left six houses fully damaged at Manang headquarters Chame.

Manang CDO Bishnu Lamichhane said the floodwater might damage more houses as it had not receded till this evening.

Flood in two local streams has put government offices and private houses at risk.

According to Annapurna Conservation Area Project ACAP Manang Chief Lekhnath Gautam, the flood has put the District Police Office, ACAP Office and some private houses at risk.

Manang DSP Subash Khadka said they were not safe. "Flood in both streams has increased. We are at high risk," said DSP Khadka.

Flood has inundated 30 houses at Tal Gaun on the banks of Marsyangdi River.

Landslide and flood have swept away electricity poles, and washed away Timang Micro Hydro Power as well, said CDO Lamichhane.

Flood has also disrupted communication services at many places in the district.

Despite the havoc wreaked by the flood, no human casualty has been reported.

"We have deployed personnel of Nepali Army and Nepal Police to evacuate people to safer places," added CDO Lamichhane.

Meanwhile, a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall from last night has disrupted Dumre-Besisahar Highway in Tanahun.

SP Arun Poudel said that landslide had obstructed the highway. A police team deployed from Bhanu Area Police Office is working to remove the landslide with a dozer.
