KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 25

Prime Minister Sushila Karki reaffirmed the government's commitment to social justice and good governance, stressing that the fight against corruption remains her administration's foremost priority.

In her first address to the nation since assuming office as the head of the interim government mandated to conduct the House of Representatives (HoR) election on March 5, PM Karki urged civil servants to ensure efficient, hassle-free, and prompt public service delivery.

She informed that hotlines have been established in all government offices, including the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, to receive and address public grievances. Citizens dissatisfied with public services may lodge complaints through these hotlines, she reminded.

On constitutional matters, the Prime Minister underlined that any amendment could only be decided by Parliament, through elected representatives. She added, however, that the government is being steered in the spirit of the Gen-Z struggle, calling for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the success of her administration.

To safeguard fiscal resources, Karki announced that small-scale and haphazardly executed projects would be scrapped. She also revealed the establishment of a reconstruction fund to mobilize resources for rebuilding infrastructure damaged during the recent protests.

Finally, she appealed to all government employees to refrain from activities that demoralize colleagues in the current transitional context and instead dedicate themselves to enhancing the quality of public service delivery.
