DOLAKHA, JANUARY 19

The federal government has decided to invest Rs 15 crore to construct a 10-bed hospital in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Dolakha.

The central government has approved the tender for construction of the health facility at Malujamune in the rural municipality. Rural municipality Chairman Ishwor Chandra Pokhrel said that construction work would begin as soon as the process was completed. He said that the locals of Ward 4 had donated nine ropani land for the same.

Ward Chairman Hom Bahadur Shrestha said that Parsu Ram Pokhrel, Rajan Pokhrel, Padam Bahadur Khatri, Thir Kumari Pokhrel, and Janardan Pokhrel had donated land for construction of the hospital.

The donors said that they were eagerly waiting to see a hospital come into operation on the land they had donated.

Rural Municipality Chairman Pokhrel said that the health facility had been providing health services to locals with resources available at the local level.

He added that more facilities would be provided to people with the operation of the hospital from the new buildings.

Pokhrel said the health posts, along with community health units from all eight local levels had been providing service to the people. He said free medicines were provided to blood pressure and diabetic patients.

Chief Administrative Officer Nimes Mishra said that the rural municipality had added Rs 20,000 to the amount offered by the central government for chronic patients. He said that the rural municipality had managed ambulance service for COVID-19 patients to reach the hospital free of cost.

The service is also available for patients suffering from other diseases besides COVID-19 at 33 per cent discount.
