KATHMANDU, JANUARY 8

Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal has emphasized the need to exert collective pressure to finalize the remaining tasks of the peace process and transitional justice.

Speaking at a program held today to commemorate the 26th memorial day of missing Maoist combatant Rajendra Dhakal, Chair Dahal stressed that all stakeholders must unite to bring the peace process to a logical conclusion.

He accused certain forces of attempting to obstruct the peace process and urged all political parties to act with sincerity in resolving outstanding issues. Dahal also mentioned plans for the CPN (Maoist Centre) to engage in discussions with the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) on the matter.

Similarly, UML leader Agni Kharel affirmed his party's and the government's commitment to concluding the peace process. "The current government is determined to ensure the success of the peace process. This intention has also been articulated in a document presented at the CPN (UML)'s central committee meeting," Kharel said, emphasizing the need for government and opposition unity on this issue.

Former Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Govinda Bandi highlighted the importance of consensus between all concerned parties to finalize transitional justice.

Nepal Bar Association Chairperson Gopal Krishna Ghimire warned that delaying the resolution of transitional justice issues would damage the nation's international reputation.
