Over a four-month period (mid-April to mid-August), the country recorded 2,675 disaster-related incidents, affecting 4,725 households.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), these incidents resulted in 117 fatalities and 564 injuries.
The breakdown shows 198 flood-related incidents, causing 16 deaths and leaving 21 people missing. Floods alone affected 1,313 households. Landslides accounted for 281 cases, with 13 deaths and 17 injuries reported. In addition, 174 incidents were attributed to heavy rainfall, 244 to lightning strikes, and 74 to snakebites.
Fire-related incidents totaled 1,066, including 158 wildfires. There were also 276 windstorm incidents, 153 cases of animal attacks, 41 cases of high-altitude sickness, and five earthquake-related events. In total, 22 people remain missing.
On August 9 alone, 35 disaster incidents were reported. Of these, 13 were due to landslides, five to continuous rainfall, two to altitude sickness, and one each to lightning strikes and animal attacks. These incidents resulted in six injuries.
