MAHOTTARI: A woman committed suicide in Bardibas Municipality-2 of the district on Saturday.

Married to Bimalendra Kumar Mahato just a year ago, Monita Devi Mahato (20) killed herself by hanging from the ceiling of her house yesterday night, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Nepal Police Birendra Kumar Singh said.

Police said that Monita Devi might have committed suicide over a family dispute.

A police team has reached the village to take stock of the incident, Inspector Jiban Giri said.

A family source said that Monita, who had gone to bed with her husband in the ground floor of the house after having dinner, was found hanging in the next room.
