BAJURA, JANUARY 3

Nepali Army has rescued 14 workers stranded for the past one week in the snow in Rukum (East). A Nepali Army chopper from Surkhet rescued them from Pelma, Puth Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Rukum (East).

A Nepali Army team led by Lieutenant Colonel Rachan Shrestha from its West Airbase Surkhet had carried out the rescue operation.

According to NA sources, Jok Prasad Budha, Aushi Budha, Bishal Budha, Dayalakh Kami, Ramjit Kami, Jani Budha, Krishna Budha, Dipak Kami, Sunil Jhakri, Jundevi Jhakri, Prem Bahadur Kami, Bahadur Budha, Nabin Budha and Nanten Pun were stranded in snow.

The workers had been employed to construct a road to the ward office and were staying in a cave due to heavy snowfall. They have been brought to Pelma village after being rescued.

News about their plight had only come to light yesterday. Their health condition is said to be normal.
