TANAHUN: Surendra Baduwal and Tham Rana won the men's doubles title of the Badminton Tournament here on Monday. Suman Shrestha and Ram Malla Thakuri came second, while Dhan Bahadur Gurung and Lal Bahadur Thapa finished third along with Sagar Thapa and Bipin Ghale.
Top three pairs received Rs 40,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. In the women's section, Anu Rana and Dilasa Rana finished first, while Shital KC and Manu Rana came second.
The pairs of Sanu Maya Shrestha and Ruby Shrestha, and Minu Pun and Jyoti Gurung finished joint third. Top three pairs earned Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. Byas Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane handed over the prizes to the winners of the tournament organized by Byas City Badminton Club to mark the Democracy Day.
