Kathmandu, April 8

Kishor Basnet won the title of the Chivas Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, the 10-handicap amateur golfer, Basnet accumulated 41 points to finish first. Maj Aditya Pratap Singh came second with 39 points. Along with the winner's trophy, Basnet received 25-year-old Chivas whisky and gift hampers. Singh got 18-year-old whisky and gift hampers.

Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the gross section award with 36 points and he received trophy along with Chivas ultis whisky and gift hampers. Einhaus also bagged the most birdies award after he carded three birdies and an eagle.

Pradeep Kumar Shrestha claimed the senior section trophy with 34 points. Kashmira Shah won the women's category title with 32 point, while Tara Karki Chitrakar came second with 29 points. Surendra Phuyal and Lt Col Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi won the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively.

A total of 94 golfers, including seven women players, took part in the tournament sponsored by Pernod Ricard. General Manager of Pernod Ricard Ravinder Saini and Gokarna Golf Club Captain Joseph Nathan handed over prizes to the winners.
