Chinese Lifan Motorcycle Himalayan Expedition 2002

Two Chinese motorcyclists, who started on a mission to set a new world record taking their motorcycles to a height of 6,187 metres, reached Gongar in Dolakha district, on Sunday.

Sui Chen and Den Swong are scheduled to reach Manebungkharka on Monday, said the convenor of the expedition Dharma Expedition from Dolakha. The Chinese duo began their expedition on Saturday and were flagged off by Home State Minister Devendra Raj Kandel in Kathmandu. The Chinese Lifan Motorcycle Himalayan Expedition 2002 is being organised by Advertising Avenues, expedition convenor and Lifan’s advertising promoter.

The bikers aim to reach 6,187 metre-high Parchaoma peak breaking the previous record of 6,100-metres. The motorcyclists will travel through Beding, Na, Yalung and summit the peak which falls in Rolwaling Himalayan range.

Annapurna Associates is the authorised dealer of the Chinese Lifan Motorcycles which is owned by President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kaji Shrestha.

The 10-day expedition has been organised with the aim of promoting adventure tourism in Nepal.
