Japan thump Nepal

KATHMANDU: Nepal U-15 team suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Japan U-16 in the SFT South Asia JFA U-16 Football Exchange Programme in Colombo on Sunday.

Kondo Kuraba scored a hat-trick, while skipper Nishikawa Jun and Nakano netted two each for the Japanese team. Sako Maya and Sumiko Koshiro scored one apiece. Nepal goalkeeper Roshan Thapa saved a penalty from Sumiko Koshiro in the 50th minute.

The Nepali team, which had registered a 7-1 victory over Bhutan on Saturday, will play their third and final match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
