KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, expressed hope for Israel's continued support in advancing Nepal's agriculture sector.

During a meeting with Israel's Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Bass, at the Ministry on Thursday, Minister Adhikari urged renewed bilateral cooperation in agriculture. He specifically called for reviving the 'Earn and Learn' program, emphasizing its role in providing opportunities for Nepali youth.

Additionally, he requested the Ambassador's support in establishing a Center for Excellence in agricultural development, noting that the areas for partnership have already been identified.

Minister Adhikari highlighted that approximately 5,000 Nepalis currently employed in Israel have significantly improved their livelihoods.

In response, Ambassador Bass affirmed Israel's willingness to cooperate with Nepal through technology transfer in agriculture. He also pledged to take steps toward establishing the proposed Center for Excellence and to facilitate opportunities for Nepali workers in Israel.

Furthermore, the Ambassador reiterated Israel's commitment to implementing previously signed agreements between the two nations.
